About our Classes
We teach students to learn to write and love to write, giving them the skills to express their ideas like real authors. Our vision is to open up access to quality teaching and learning! Our innovative online writing classes build essential writing skills while inspiring great student writers (age 8-16).
How it works
We use the art of story telling and real-world connection with exciting and motivating writing tasks combined with one-to one support from experienced and qualified teachers to help students excel in writing and language skills.

Each Online Course includes:

Group classes which provide individual feedback and coaching to your child from a UK qualified teacher with 10+ years classroom experience.

Step-by-step skill building writing classes which help students to understand and master language techniques.

Exciting tasks which encourage imagination, creative thinking and problem solving.

Skill building student writer's Toolkits are provided in every class to support writing. These Toolkits can be downloaded to keep as a revision aid so your child can support their writing skills after the course is completed​.

Support for students academic achievement. Classes support learning objectives from UK and international curriculums as well as private school entrance tests (UK, Cambridge, PYP, MYP, 11+), supporting and going beyond classroom learning​.
Our Method
Students learn best when they feel challenged, motivated, supported, inspired and allowed agency to express themselves through their work.

To really learn to write and love learning language skills, tasks must be connected to real reasons to write. Writers write to tell stories, to entertain, to express and understand emotion, opinion and to influence others. Writing taught without these elements often produces very boring lessons and uninspired students.

Our unique and proven method is research-based and has been created by a highly experienced UK teacher. Based on active learning we help students become experts of writing by showing them the tools and techniques real authors use to bring imagination to life, engage and influence the reader.

We build advanced technical writing skills and advanced language knowledge with fun tasks that are both inspiring and challenging. This helps students connect their skills to real world writing and self expression. Our classes feature a mixture of inspiration from real authors with skill building step-by step toolkits and activities which break down the techniques making them clear and usable for young writers. This helps young writers master complex writing skills and craft really amazing story scenes, essays or news reports.
How our classes work
A better learning experience
Step 1 Students log into the student platform where all the course materials, live Zoom links and Feedback booking calendar can be easily found on their course page.

Step 2 Students download or print the class Toolkit which provides language support for the key skills in the lesson.
Step 3 Students join their live Zoom class where the UK qualified teacher engages and supports students in the art of writing through a series of interactive, exciting, skill-building challenges and tasks.
​
Step 4 Students complete their mini writing task after class and post it to the class shared writing board.
​
Step 5 The teacher writes each student individual feedback, highlighting their strengths and providing one area to edit for extra impact.
​
Step 6 Students have the option to book individual feedback and coaching sessions with their teacher during the week. This is a 15 minute one-to-one session where the teacher works individually with your child on their personal targets. This is included free with every course because we know that great feedback is what really helps students get ahead with their writing!
Why Writing Matters...
Learning to write, and write well, involves an entirely different skill set from mastering spoken English and it is an area that many students struggle to master. Becoming a confident and skilled writer will open up many doors throughout a child's life, academically, personally, and culturally. Being a good writer involves knowing how to manipulate language for creative effect, to express voice, emotion and to influence others.

Learning to use great writing skills and the art of story telling also builds student's creative and social brains. This helps improve social and emotional understanding and also supports problem solving, planning and higher order thinking. These are the valuable and essential skills which all students will benefit from in the future, rather than just an ability to memorise facts.

Building solid writing skills has also been proven to help students to build their confidence and boosts their motivation for personal learning, both in and out of the classroom.

Read to write and write to read
It is a well known fact that students who read more have better writing skills. We propose that when students are taught to write well, they also become better readers.
When our Creative Writing Program was trialled in international school classrooms, teachers noted that students were better able to identify and comment on author's techniques during classroom reading. They were better able to make connections and explain how the author was using language to influence the reader in the books that they were reading.
These are essential reading and analytical skills which support students at a personal and academic level in all their future pursuits.
Will the level of the class be right for my child?

Each of our Writing Courses is suitable for a range of ability levels, and we have many students from different countries with different skills and writing interests.

Our unique support Toolkits are specially designed to help students build on their skills from any level. Our classes also feature Extension Challenges to stretch even the most advanced writers. This helps students of a variety of levels develop and stretch their writing skills throughout our classes and beyond.

In addition, the one-to-one Feedback Sessions give extra individualised support, meeting students at their own level, and showing them exactly where they can use the tools from class to improve their writing.

The level of the group classes is suitable for students writing at near grade level, up to very advanced and gifted writers. We use additional challenges to really stretch even the most gifted student writers. Please let us know when contacting us if your child is a very advanced writer for their age.

Students will need a reasonable level of English, native or near-native level speakers to be able to understand and follow the class. If you are unsure if your child's English skills are at the right level for a course, just contact us and one of our teachers will be able to provide an assessment of your child's suitability free of charge, and answer any questions you may have.
