Terms and Conditions

In registering for a course with us, you are agreeing to abide by our Terms and Conditions as set out below on this page. A copy of our terms and conditions can also be emailed to you on request.

It is our goal at Write Way Ahead to offer classes which students and parents really love and which really boost skills and inspire a love of writing!

Our Terms and Conditions are designed to reflect this goal. We know that the majority of our parents sign up for additional classes and send extremely positive feedback. If you do have any feedback or concerns, please do not hesitate to get in touch and we will see what we can do to help.

Cancelled or Rescheduled Classes

We aim to deliver classes at the agreed time, however sometimes things happen outside our control. If a scheduled class is cancelled by Write Way Ahead, we will aim to offer several alternative class time options to ensure every student can join the rescheduled class.

Missed Classes

If a student misses a class, or is unable to attend a class for any reason, they can watch the private recorded class video online on their course page, or request the class recording link. The teacher will also be able to offer a 15 minute appointment to review/support the student on their writing challenge from the missed class if needed.

Refunds:

We understand that unforeseen circumstances can prevent students from being able to attend a course. We also want parents and students to feel 100% satisfied with their chosen course.

- We offer a 95% refund for courses cancelled by parents within 48 hours of making the booking, provided the course has not yet started. We consider a course to have started when the course link email is sent out.

- We offer a 85% refund for courses cancelled at least 7 days before the course start date.

- We offer a 80% refund after the first class if parents/students do not feel the course is right for them. In this case, you must contact us via email to let us know you do not wish to proceed with the course within 12 hours of the first live class ending. A feedback form will be sent to the family, and a the refund sent on return of the completed feedback form.

We cannot offer refunds for students leaving courses once the course is in progress. We consider a course to be in progress once the course link email has been sent out (this is usually done 2-5 days before the course start date.) However, if you have a special circumstance please get in touch, as it may be possible for your child to join another course to complete their classes at a different time, or at a later date when they are able to do so- talk to us and we will see what we can do.

Respectful Class Policy:

At Write Way Ahead, it is our goal to create a learning environment in which all students feel comfortable and are able to participate and learn in the class. In joining our courses, parents and students agree to abide by our behaviour policies.

Please read our list of student rules:

  • All students are expected to communicate using respectful language

  • Students are invited and encouraged to share ideas and write on the class boards etc. Students are not allowed to abuse this right by scribbling, messing around, deleting or covering other students work or class tools.

  • Parents should ensure students have a quiet place to join the class. Where this is not possible, please keep your microphone muted until during the class, and just switch it on temporarily when you wish to speak,  so that excessive background noise does not impact other students.

  • We ask students to have cameras on during the class and to participate in activities. Our classes are designed for students to participate in multiple ways by verbally sharing ideas, or by writing in the chat and responding to class polls.

  • We ask students to be ready for class on time, although we understand that this may not always be possible. The class will start on time, and your teacher will do their best to allow your child into the classroom within a few minutes if they are joining late.

  • We turn on student commenting and feedback on the shared writing board after the first few classes in a course when students have got to know each other. Students are welcome to comment and give feedback on their peers' writing using positive and respectful language.

  • Students are welcome to share ideas and ask questions during class. To ensure all students can participate, we ask students to raise hands or gesture (where possible) that they have something to share. Students should not interrupt other students or the teacher.

If students act in a way that disrupts the class or makes other students feel uncomfortable, we will first contact parents to send a reminder of our Respectful Class Policy. If disrespectful or disruptive behavior is repeated, Write Way Ahead reserves the right to withdraw the student from the class. In this case a refund will not be offered.

Recording Policy

All of our classes are recorded. The link is never shared with students, families or anyone outside the group class and never used for any purpose except allowing students to watch a missed class. In the class recording, the students video profiles are not on visible on screen, unless the student has verbally answered a question. In this case their video will be on screen for a few seconds while they are talking.

Sharing Student Work

Write Way Ahead will occasionally use student written examples on our facebook and website page to advertise our classes and celebrate our students achievements. When we share student's writing, we may include their first name only and age. Full names or other details will never be shared. If you would not like your child's writing to be shared, please let us know and we will ensure their writing is not shared.

Data Policy

In line with the Data Protection Act 2018, Write Way Ahead does not store or use data for any purpose except to communicate with families and assign students to writing groups. Find out more about your rights and the Data Protection Act 2018 here.
